They do not mow. Or they mow as if the deck were a razor. Either way, a Streetsboro lawn that is scalped will not answer to another bag of fertilizer. We see thin, off-color turf, a request for more nitrogen, and a mower still set under two inches on cool-season grass that needed height to hide the soil. Fertility cannot hide a scalp.

Height is the first measurement
Bring the mower setting or a photo of the deck on the grass. If the stand is brown at the tips after every cut, the blade is dull or the height is wrong. If the lawn is six inches and lodging because nobody has been there in three weeks, that is a different file: a catch-up cut, then a program, not a dump of product on a hayfield.

Clay plus a low cut equals weeds and heat stress
Portage County clay dries hard at the surface when there is no canopy. Weeds fill the light. A fertility pass on that surface can push what little turf remains into a flush that then burns. What we will not do
We will not hang a disease label on brown tips from a low cut. We will not add grub chemistry because the lawn looks thin after a scalp. Lift a square if you are worried about insects. No larvae, no grub ticket. Thin from mowing is still a mowing ticket.
Irrigation that soaks a scalped strip every night can scald it. Minutes belong in the same note as height.
