Grubs are one of the most damaging lawn pests in Northeast Ohio. These white, C-shaped larvae of Japanese beetles, June bugs, and other beetles feed on grass roots, causing significant damage that can destroy entire sections of your lawn if left untreated.

Signs of Grub Damage

• Brown Patches: Dead or dying grass that doesn't respond to watering
• Spongy Turf: Grass that feels soft and lifts easily from soil
• Animal Activity: Increased skunks, raccoons, or birds digging in your lawn
• Japanese Beetles: Adult beetles present in summer indicate future grub problems

• Easy Rollback: Turf peels back like a carpet due to severed roots

Our Grub Control Approach

We offer both preventative and curative grub control treatments depending on your lawn's needs and the time of year. Preventative treatments are applied in early summer before eggs hatch, while curative treatments target actively feeding grubs in late summer and fall.

Treatment Timing

• Preventative (June-July): Applied before eggs hatch, most effective approach
• Curative (August-October): Targets actively feeding grubs causing current damage
• Spring Treatment: Can address grubs that survived winter, though less common

After Treatment Care

Following grub control treatment, proper watering is essential to activate the product and ensure it reaches the root zone where grubs feed. We provide specific post-treatment instructions to maximize effectiveness. In cases where significant damage has occurred, we may recommend overseeding to restore lawn density.
