A bundled lawn and pest program can look like one large service plan. It is actually several programs operating on the same property.
Portage Turf & Pest currently publishes three bundles named Enhanced Care, Enhanced Care Plus, and Enhanced Care Premium. Each level adds another group of services, moving from lawn care and mosquito and tick treatment into structural pest control, grub protection, plant health, aeration, and soil amendments.
You should not expect every included item to happen during the same visit. A five-round lawn program follows one seasonal schedule. Mosquito and tick treatments follow another. Quarterly pest control continues around the home. Aeration belongs in an appropriate lawn window, while soil amendments should follow test results and the property plan. Enhanced Care covers turf and outdoor biting-pest service
The Enhanced Care bundle currently includes the five-round lawn-care program, the mosquito and tick spray program, a soil test, and a published bundle discount of 5%. This level may fit a homeowner whose main concerns are the condition of the lawn and seasonal mosquito or tick activity outdoors.
The lawn portion can include fertilization and weed control tailored to Northeast Ohio turf. We also describe mosquito and tick service as a separate seasonal program rather than part of ordinary lawn fertilization. That distinction should remain clear in the service calendar. A lawn technician may visit without treating mosquitoes. A mosquito and tick technician may work around perimeter and outdoor areas without performing the next fertilizer round.
Enhanced Care Plus adds the house and grub protection
Enhanced Care Plus currently adds the quarterly structural pest program, grub control, lawn-insect protection, and a published bundle discount of 10%. This changes the program from primarily lawn and outdoor-use service into a broader home-and-property plan.
Our pest division includes year-round perimeter and structural programs for pests such as ants, spiders, mice, and other common household invaders. We begin with an inspection, develop a customized treatment plan, and provide ongoing treatment and monitoring. Grub control belongs in the lawn portion of the plan, but it is not the same thing as treating ants or spiders around the house.
You should receive a schedule that identifies which visits address turf nutrition and weeds, mosquitoes and ticks, foundation or structural pests, grubs, other lawn insects, and follow-up inspections.
Enhanced Care Premium adds plant health and physical lawn work
Enhanced Care Premium currently includes everything in the lower bundles, plus plant-health care, aeration, sulfur or lime, and a published bundle discount of 15%. This is the most complete published package and the one most likely to involve several different service specialists.
Our plant-health work can include deep-root injections, dormant pruning, plant evaluations, disease programs, revitalization work, and mineral-deficiency treatments. Lawn services separately include aeration, fertilization, seeding, and soil testing. A plant-health visit should not be confused with another lawn application. The technician may be examining trees or shrubs, identifying a disease condition, reviewing nutrients, or performing work in the root zone of a specific plant.
The soil test should guide the amendment
We include a soil test in all three published bundles. Our soil testing and boosters work evaluates pH, nutrient levels, and organic matter so the lawn program and mineral recommendations can be adjusted to the property rather than guessed. That means the soil test is not simply a promotional item to file away.
Ask for a plain-language explanation of soil pH, nutrient findings, organic-matter findings, whether lime is recommended, whether sulfur is recommended, whether another booster is recommended, which area the sample represents, and when the soil should be tested again. The Premium bundle lists sulfur or lime, but the correct amendment should follow the soil result. You should not assume every Premium customer receives the same material. Aeration has its own preparation and follow-up
Aeration physically removes soil plugs to address compaction and create openings through the turf. It is not another liquid application.
Before the aeration visit, you may need to identify invisible fence, irrigation heads, shallow wiring, drainage, utility covers, recently seeded areas, new sod, areas that should not be crossed, gate access, and pets. Ask whether overseeding will occur at the same time or remain a separate service. The bundle currently lists aeration but does not automatically state that every other lawn-renovation service is included. Quarterly pest service does not mean every pest is included
A recurring structural pest program commonly covers a defined group of household pests. We also publish separate specialty services for termites, bed bugs, fleas, moles and voles, mosquitoes and ticks, and one-time pest concerns.
Before choosing Plus or Premium, ask which pests are included in quarterly service, whether the program includes interior treatment, whether rodents are included, whether termites, bed bugs, and fleas are separate, how wasps are handled, what exclusion work is included, what follow-up is included, and what preparation is required. The word pest program should not be interpreted as unlimited treatment for every animal or insect that could appear on the property.
Build one calendar with separate service lines
A useful annual calendar separates the five-round lawn program, mosquito and tick visits, quarterly pest service, grub control, lawn-insect protection, the soil test, aeration, plant health, and lime or sulfur. We provide the actual dates and scope. The calendar prevents you from assuming a missed lawn application simply because the most recent truck visit involved another service category.
Tell Portage about the whole property before choosing the tier
Bundle selection should account for more than lawn square footage. Useful information includes lawn size, turf condition, wooded edge, mosquito or tick pressure, indoor pest history, rodent history, trees and shrubs, compaction, grub history, soil-test history, pets, children’s play areas, garden, irrigation, and previous treatments.
The Premium bundle may offer the broadest service list. A smaller bundle can still be the better fit when the property does not need plant-health or aeration work.
Confirm current promotions in the proposal
We currently publish 5%, 10%, and 15% bundle discounts, but pricing varies by property size and promotions can change. The written quote should identify the bundle selected, discount, services included, number of visits, add-on services, property areas, payment schedule, renewal terms, cancellation terms, and current promotional items.
